howismywifi for iPhone and iPad is distributed via Apple TestFlight — Apple's official platform for beta testing apps. Requires iOS 17.0 or later.
TestFlight is Apple's free app for installing beta apps. If you don't already have it, download it from the App Store.
Get TestFlightMost iPhones already have TestFlight installed. Check your App Library before downloading.
On your iPhone or iPad, tap the link below. It will open TestFlight and show the howismywifi invite.
Open in TestFlightTap Accept on the invite, then tap Install to download howismywifi.

Open howismywifi (WiFi Monitor on older builds) from your home screen. Choose a capture length (Lightning, Standard, Extended, or Continuous) and tap Start Capture. Lightning (⚡) stops as soon as its tests finish — about a minute, longer on a satellite link.
On iOS 26 or later you can usually switch apps or lock the phone while it runs; iOS shows its progress. If iOS ends it (opening the Camera does), the capture pauses — reopen howismywifi to resume. If iOS closed the app in the meantime, what was captured is saved as ended early. The video test runs while the app is open; if you leave, it waits until you come back. On earlier iOS versions, or if iOS declines background running when the capture starts, keep the app open or the capture stops.
Results upload automatically and appear at howismywifi.com — published publicly, by default. Turn it off in Settings; see Privacy & Data Handling.
This means TestFlight opened but didn't receive the invite link. Go back to Safari, then tap the Open in TestFlight button above again. Make sure you're tapping the link, not opening the TestFlight app directly.
Make sure TestFlight is installed (Step 1). If it is, try copying the link and pasting it into Safari — some apps (Slack, Teams) use built-in browsers that don't support TestFlight links.
The testing group has reached its capacity. Ask whoever shared the build with you to have the limit raised.
